Epic Systems Corporation, Verona, WI
April, 2004 to August, 2009 – Technical Service Specialist
- I was a technical application specialist on a customer team that implemented a common registration system for multiple hospitals that would integrate with an existing outpatient system for a partner organization and interface with the hospitals’ existing legacy billing systems and added the functionality to Epic’s system that would allow it to interface with the legacy billing systems.
- For the same customer, I was part of the team that transitioned them from a standalone installation to being part of a large multi-state CareEverywhere installation and oversaw the roll-out of the registration functionality to additional hospitals in the new deployments.
- Finally, for the same customer, I was part of the transition team that took the hospitals from using only the registration functionality to rolling out the majority of the ADT functionality while still maintaining the interface with their legacy hospital billing system and this allowed for the roll-out of more Epic inpatient functionality throughout the rest of the hospital.
- With another customer team, I developed the specifications and lead the team that made a wide variety of customized code to Epic’s registration system into standard installation options for one of the largest health care organizations in the US to allow them to transition to a CareEverywhere installation and roll out their registration functionality to more hospitals and clinics across multiple states and countries.
- While performing these large tasks, I continued to work closely with my customer teams to help resolve issues they were encountering and other general software development projects and was involved in numerous software system upgrades (both onsite and remotely with my customers.)
CUNA Mutual Group Madison, WI
June, 1997 to November, 2003 – Software Developer
- I developed and maintained a Visual Basic Application that both automated and stream-lined what insurance specialists used to create and track sales proposals used to sell insurance packages to credit unions and then populate the accepted proposals into the contract management system. The system calculated 3-year projections for insurance sales based on the credit union information and member demographics using an Excel spreadsheet to create the projections and Word to create a custom proposed contract unique to each credit union.
- Automated the build process for several applications by creating a Visual Basic utility that would read a configuration script to create daily builds for testing using the most recent code changes. This process both saved hours of time for each build and also produced a more reliable build to use for ongoing testing.
